Planning for culture, arts and sport does not takes place in a vacuum but within a context of legislative, policy and strategic frameworks and tools. This section focuses on the policy and operational context of the current planning system, with particular reference to key changes brought about by the Localism Act 2011 and the National Planning Policy Framework (introduced in 2012).
